Brush It Off-Ya-Shoulder: Dress + Heels

Saturday, May 14, 2016

Happiest of weekends to you! Did this past work week just seem like the longest ever? It did for me, which is why I am extra ready for the weekend. It also makes me super motivated to start planning our next trip. Matt and I have been looking forward to heading on another trip to Europe later this year. At this point, it's just about time to start scheduling and booking our flights, rooms, and whatnot -- which is just the most exciting! (For real, though, get me out of this 100 degree heat - yes, it's already in the triple digits in PHX - and over to Spain!! Oh, and once in EspaƱa, I fully intend to dance all over the country in this little off-the-shoulder number. So perfect for shimmying, right?)

What are your plans for these next glorious two days? Matt and I are working on spring cleaning - which, in our case, means deep cleaning and finding all of the random, hidden places that our pets' fur has been getting all over for the past few months. Seriously, as I think anyone else with at least four animals will agree, every. single. time. that you think you've discovered all the fur tufts, you find out three seconds later that you are very, very wrong. There is fur. Everywhere. Always. (But they're worth it, of course, those sweet, cuddly fur babies of ours!)

With Style & Lace: Jacket + Tank + Skinny Jeans + Ankle Boots

Monday, May 9, 2016

Hi there! Is your neighborhood just absolutely erupting with flowers right now? Our 'hood is fully abloom, and it just makes me so happy. There's nothing else quite like walking the dogs with Matt, surrounded by all the colors of the desert landscapes (which are stunning, in case you've never experienced them in person before). Today's post is proof of that - as you can probably tell this gigantic bougainvillea kinda steals the show, does it not?

Also, please let me apologize for my absence lately! Did you miss me? Because I certainly missed you. However, the reason for the lack of posts is due to the fact that I've spent the past two weeks hanging out with my family who has been visiting. (One of those weekends also included the stomach flu from Hell that took out the whole household for three solid days. That was a bummer... Thank the lawd that is done and over with!)

Sadly, though, my mom left back to Ohio last week, and my sister and niece return to the east early tomorrow morning. Matt and I really enjoyed having everyone here in Phoenix, and it's always sad to say goodbye, of course. But, alas, eventually adult life beckons us all back to our responsibilities... Le sigh... Until next time!

Line Up: Tee + Skinny Jeans + Converse

Thursday, April 28, 2016

Hello! My mom, sister, and niece are all in town visiting from Ohio. My niece, Lacey, is 3 years old and, let me tell ya, she is such a cutie. Despite the fact that she wakes up with the sun (seriously) and, in turn, wakes the whole house up with her, it's been super fun hanging out with her. There's nothing like a toddler to make ya laugh!

Do you wear sneakers a lot? Personally, I don't wear tennis shoes very often myself; however, I have a feeling I'll be wearing outfits like this one on repeat while Lacey is here. She keeps ya on your toes!

Pep[lum] in my Step[lum]: Tank + Skinny Jeans + Stacked Heels + Bytten for Fitbit Flex

Tuesday, April 19, 2016

Happiest of Tuesdays, my party people! Who's ready to RAGE on day 2 of this work week?! Just kidding. I am already so exhausted from this week -- and I still have quite a bit of it left... Ah, well. That's the thug life, I suppose. #IDidntChooseTheThugLifeTheThugLifeChoseMe

Black Fitbit "Flex": Amazon

Gold plastic Fitbit accessory: c/o Bytten
I have not taken off this accessory for the Fitbit Flex from Bytten since the day it arrived. I love being able to track my steps (and sleep) each day; however, the black rubber Fitbit band isn't exactly the most stylish. That's why I am loving these accessories, because now my Fitbit looks less like a tracker - and more like an actual bracelet. I highly recommend picking the two pack that is sold at Target!
(PS: Bytten also offers a premium collection if you are looking to upgrade your Fitbit Flex or Charge even more!)

Tomorrow is "hump day" as us real life adults thugs call it. This day is so very welcomed in my heart. I shall celebrate it by working 8 hours, coming home and eating the equivalent of four dinners in one sitting, and falling asleep to the sweet hum of Netflix in the background. Who's jelly? (Or, more appropriately, perhaps, who else will be doing this exact same thing upon their own arrival home as their simultaneous mid-week exhaustion and pre-excitement for the weekend sets in? Don't be ashamed - we are in this adult thug life together!)

Destination Unknown: Jacket + Graphic Tank + Skinny Jeans + Espadrille Wedges

Monday, April 11, 2016

Hello! If you have been reading this blog for a while now, you may have caught on to something: I am a lover of all Phoenix seasons... except for summer. Summer is the desert means 100+ degree temperatures for four months straight, which never gets more bearable -- despite what people may tell you (do not trust anyone who says otherwise). You can never really guess when the first day of triple-digit temps will arrive; therefore, chilly spring days are something to revel in and celebrate. Today is one of those days. I'm writing this with the windows open and wrapped up in a blanket, which is making me feel all the feels of coziness. It's Heaven on Earth.

I can't just rag on Phoenix's hotter days, though. Because there are some good things about higher temperatures, such as the return of open-toed shoes and espadrilles. They just scream "85 degrees," right?! What's your favorite item of clothing that you just can't wait to bust out on March 20th each year?
