Crop It Like It's Hot | Knit Top + Printed High-Waisted Pants + Mules

Wednesday, May 15, 2019

Wait. How is it already halfway through the fifth month out of 2019? Mind-blowing... And speaking of mind-blowing – how is there only one episode left of Game of Thrones ever?! Time is flying too quickly. Which is also why it's been extra hard for me to fit in LunaVida posts – and for that, I am very sorry! But I'm back today with an #OOTD that is very "Art Teacher Chic" if you ask me. Doesn't this outfit look like (a hopefully cooler version of) something your 7th-grade art teacher would've worn but, like, with a paintbrush tucked behind her ear? ...Maybe I have too much of an imagination... but regardless, I am iiinto this new trend of comfy, breezy, wide-leg pants!

Black knit crop top with side zippers (also seen here): ASOS

Print high-waist cropped pants with tie: American Eagle
[similar - on sale for under $16!]

Nude mules: American Eagle

Gold aviator sunglasses (here): Old Navy

Gold statement collar necklace (also seen here, here, and here): H&M

Gold bracelets (also seen here, here, and here): Target, c/o oNecklace, and c/o Blue Sunflowers

Do you watch GoT? (If so, what are your theories?!) Are you into the lightweight, baggy pants trend? If you're not a fan, I get it. But I also recommend trying on a pair – because, honestly, this level of non-pajama comfort is unparalleled.

Autumn Attire | Cardigan + Tank + Skinny Jeans + Ankle Boots

Friday, October 26, 2018

Happy Friday! We made it. What are you up to these next two glorious days? This weekend involves fitting in some more fall fun for us (and my mama's birthday -- Happy B-day, Mom!). My friend and I are hitting up another pumpkin patch today before coming back here to carve them by a fire in our backyard, cider in hand of course. On Sunday we are headed up to Orange County for the day to go to Knott's Berry Farm. I've never been before but I love me some roller coasters! And then somehow next week it's already Halloween, quickly followed by the election (make sure you're registered to vote at www.vote.org, please!), and then I head up to Northern California for a retreat at the farm animal sanctuary I started working for recently! Autumn really is shaping up to, once again, be the best time of the year 😊

Navy open-front knit cardigan (also seen here, here & here): Gap

Gray floral print tank top (also seen here): Old Navy

Light wash ripped skinny jeans (also seen here, here & here): Target
[similar - on sale!]

Nude studded ankle boots (also seen here, here & here): Old Navy
[similar - under $40]

14k gold triangle necklace: c/o Sivado Studio - currently 25% off!

Gold bracelet (also seen here, here & here): Target

Cognac belt (also seen here, here & here): Gap

What are you wearing for Halloween? We don't have any plans for the holiday this year so I don't have a costume planned, unfortunately. I'll most likely be sportin' my favorite jogger sweatpants and an oversized tee, as I watch The Office and Parks & Recreation Halloween episode reruns. 👻

What To Wear To a Late Summer or Early Fall Wedding

Wednesday, September 19, 2018

As I recently mentioned, Matt and I are headed on a road trip this month for my best friend since 6th grade's wedding (hooray, Roxanne and Lele!). The wedding is outside of Denver, Colorado during that spectacular late summer/early fall. This time of year is personally my favorite for a wedding - buuut it also can be difficult to dress for as a guest. Therefore, today I am sharing some ideas of what you can wear if you have any upcoming nuptial celebrations and aren't sure what to wear for those 80-degree daytime and 60-degree evening weather days. All you have to do is bring a nice jacket or sweater to layer on once the sunsets (and the party begins)!

Side note: These picks would also work well for a rehearsal dinner outfit too if you're a part of the bridal party and wearing a bridesmaid dress on the actual big day.

What is your go-to look for a late summer/early fall wedding? I mean, obviously a simple white dress is always a hit for a wedding guest to wear. Can't go wrong with a classic! (Kiiiidding. Please don't kill me, brides.)

PS: The road trip up to Colorado is sure to be stunning. We're making stops in Zion National Park, Arches National Park, Denver, Santa Fe, and Phoenix so be sure to follow along on IG @alliegee319 to see all the sights!

Fourth of July Fashion: Knit Tank + Cutoff Shorts + Wedges

Thursday, June 29, 2017

Howdy! (I can't pull off "howdy.) You may notice something a little different in today's post... I cut 8 inches off my hair. 😱 (Don't lie, you know you noticed how long -- re: stringy -- my hair had been getting over the past few months.) I donated it to the Pantene Beautiful Lengths program. Making the decision to donate my hair also forced me to cut it much shorter than I otherwise would have. I am so happy that I did, though, because now it'll help make a wig for a woman battling cancer - and I love my new 'do! (Special shout out to Kayla at Headlines Salon in Encinitas, who cut my hair! If you are in the San Diego area, I definitely recommend her.)

So other than my new haircut, there is another upcoming thing I am excited about. That's right, baby: Fourth of July! Today's outfit is an idea for something you could wear to a cookout, parade, beach day - it honestly works for pretty much any casual 4th event. And it is COMFY - just how I like my holiday attire! (For other 4th of July outfit ideas, you can also check out this post and this post.)

Red, white, and blue striped knit tank top: American Eagle

Light wash cutoff denim shorts (also seen here, here & here): Old Navy

Cognac belt (also seen here, here & here): Gap

Brown ankle strap espadrille wedges (also seen here, here, & here): Gap

Gold statement necklace (also seen here): c/o Crown Jewelry

Madewell gold cuff bracelet (also seen here, here & here): c/o Shopbop

I've been loving trying out new ways to style my short hair. Luckily for me, one of my all-time favorite cruelty-free hair care lines, Kenra, has three new products that I am obsessed with for creating waves like these. Their Grip Collection, which includes the Whip Grip Mousse, Air Grip Spray, and High Grip Spray, has become my go-to for lightweight, textured curls.
(You can find Kenra products at Ulta!)

What are your plans for the 4th of July next week? Matt and I will probably go to a local park that has the best vantage point of the city so we can see all the firework shows over the water. And, just like every other grill out holiday, we'll most likely make some veggie burgers. Mmmm. I'm drooling already.
