Hello There Fine Fall-ow | Sweatshirt + Cutoffs + Sneakers

Monday, September 18, 2017

Hey, how's it going in your neck of the woods? Things here in SoCal are still pretty warm. We are just waiting on those fall feelings to hit our fine city. During the days in San Diego it is still hot'ish, but thankfully this weekend the morning chills finally began! Falling asleep and waking up to fresh autumn air coming through the windows is what sweet dreams are made of after all, right? Matt and I even got our new backyard setup all ready to go last night for the first fire of the season and it was gloriously kinda-but-not-really-chilly out. (Side note: whilst getting the firepit prepared we found not one, but two BLACK WIDOWS. Not cool, nature. Very scary, in fact.)

I know at this point you're probably tired of seeing these dang denim shorts. Trust me, I am too. I just want to put them in storage and bust out my fall clothes. But alas, at least the biggest heat waves should be over so we can wear sweaters with our summer clothing and pretend, eh?

Cali Casual | Tank Top + Cutoff Shorts + Slides [& SOAK Sandals Giveaway!]

Monday, July 10, 2017

Hello! This past weekend was one for the books. Matt and I were lucky enough to spend Saturday road tripping out to Campo, California to attend Farm Animal Refuge's fundraising event. We had so much fun getting to check out the farm and meet all of the animals who were rescued and saved from slaughter. It was my dream come true of a day, and this organization is doing such amazing work in the name of farmed animals. I highly recommend checking them out, especially if you are local to San Diego or visiting soon!

As for Sunday, it was a day full of errands which normally is a bummer. However, I was wearing my new vegan (and 100% recyclable ?!) slides from SOAK, which are the comfiest. (Seriously, I am LOVING these sandals. I wore them for the whole day which was a hot, sticky one. They were so comfortable for the entire day, and - sorry in advance for the TMI - I didn't get sweaty feet at all!) And luckily for one LunaVida reader, you can have your own pair too! Enter for your chance to win below (as well as a coupon code 😎)!

Victoria's Secret Sport Bra & Leggings Influenster Review

Monday, October 6, 2014

I need to work out, guys.  I know, I know.  "It's good for you, Allie."  "Don't you want to live to be at least 100 years old?"  "Your metabolism is starting to slow down, ya know..."  I get it.  Exercise is healthy for one's body/soul/mind.  I just have never been the type of person who likes to work out, especially by going to a gym or running (blech!).  I just get bored... and sweaty.  What's with the sweat?  Anyway, I digress, per usual.  Recently, I have truly been trying to force myself to go to my apartment's little gym to run on the elliptical for at least a teensy bit of cardio, in hopes I will get the gunk out of my veins and live past 40.  I also have been joining Matt in his P90X Pilates and Yoga sessions, because those are two forms of exercise I actually do enjoy, shockingly.  I think that's because I used to do gymnastics, so flexibility comes easier to me than endurance (hence my distaste for cardio).

Well, it is all in good timing, because I received the new Victoria's Secret Sport bra and leggings, and  let me tell you: they are AWESOME.  Seriously, I love them.  This is going to be TMI, so I apologize in advance; however, I want to be open and honest in this review, so here it goes: I am a D-cup in the brasserie department.  That kind of chest weight pretty much guarantees a little bit of pain when running/bouncing/jumping.  Therefore, the search for a quality sports bra can be equally as painful.  Most of them dig into my shoulders or get flimsy after one wash, but that all changed when I got the VSX sports bra.  It is, by far, my favorite I've ever worn.  Plus, the leggings are amazing, too!  As soon as I got them, Matt & I did a round of that aforementioned P90X yoga, which usually makes my workout attire slip up, down, and sideways, but not with the VSX clothing - not even the slightest!  The pants had fabulous stretch and stayed right where they should the entire time.  I would seriously recommend this new line to anyone looking to upgrade their exercise garments.  You won't regret it!

Black leggings: Victoria's Secret Sport via Influenster

Nike black & pink sneakers (also seen here): DSW

Gold necklaces (also seen here): Target & c/o JWjewelrybox

Black high top sneakers (also seen here): H&M $15 (on sale from $24.95)

Will you be trying out the Victoria's Secret Sport line?  I sincerely recommend it!  As you can see, along with a yoga session, we also took a road trip up to Sedona for some hiking in the mountains with the pups.  Once again, the bra & pants exceeded my expectations in comfort, quality, and all around wearability.  Perfect for a weekend adventure!

Travel Diaries: The Vatican & Santorini, Greece {Days 4-5}

Thursday, September 25, 2014

Hello!  I'm back at it with the "Travel Diaries" series from our vacation (check out parts onetwo)!

Our last day in Italy was spent in Rome and visiting the Vatican.  We got to go in to St. Peter's Basilica, and it was breathtaking.  I just couldn't believe the details and craftsmanship that went into every single inch of it.  It was definitely an amazing way to end our time in Italy before we headed to the airport and went on our merry way to Santorini, Greece.

Which, by the way: AHHH, SANTORINI!!!  If you know me personally, you'd probably know that Santorini has been my dream travel destination for the majority of my life.  The fact that Matt and I made it there for our first trip to Europe together just makes me downright giddy.  I had high expectations (considering I'd dreamt of this particular location for well over a decade), and I am not exaggerating when I say Santorini blew even my expectations WAY out of the [sparklingly, beautiful, blue Grecian] water.

We spent our first two nights in Greece at a cute hotel by Perissa Beach, which has amazing black sand.  We rented a [really fun, fast, and powerful] ATV to scoot around the island.  It is by far the best mode of transportation to get around!  (The prices were so reasonable too, so I totally recommend it to anyone who's traveling there in the future.)  We checked out all the sites and visited lots of different beaches.  One of the coolest things about Santorini is the fact that it has so many different types of sand at its beaches (white, red, and black sand beaches on one tiny island), so we made sure to visit 'em all!

Gray oversized tank top (also seen here, herehere): Victoria's Secret PINK

Kimchi Blue rust orange lace bralette: Urban Outfitters $9.99 (on sale from $24)

Black & white polka dot printed shorts (also seen here): Forever 21

Studded beige flat sandals: Old Navy

Santorini map locket necklace (also seen here & here): Gifted from my mom [from the Etsy shop, Brass and Chain]

Santorini was by far my favorite place we visited during our whole trip.  It was also where we spent the most time, and I am so glad we planned it like that.  If you're looking for a place to travel to my advice is make it Santorini!!!

Be sure to check back again to see the posts about the rest of our time spent in Santorini and then Mykonos, Greece!
