Rusted | Open-back Sweater + Skinny Jeans + Riding Boots

Sunday, December 3, 2017

Hey there! How has your weekend been so far? Mine has been jam-packed with work aaand I also work again today. I am downright exhausted, but I am loving how there are so many holiday events popping up now that it's December. I have been beyond ready to kick off all things Christmas since July. And although it's still warm here in SoCal, it's "chilly" for us and I am liiiiving for it. I'm so into the season that I am currently wrapped up in a blanket, drinking vegan peppermint hot cocoa, while watching holiday episodes of New Girl. This is my nearly-winter happy place.

Rust colored open back sweater: c/o PinkBlush
This sweater is THE BEST. I love how oversized and cozy it is. Then ya turn around and bam! It somehow gets even better. If you're in the market for a new sweater, I highly recommend this one.
(As for fit, I got the medium but definitely could have gone with a small. If you want a bit more of a fitted look, I recommend sizing down.)

Dark wash distressed skinny jeans (also seen here, here & here): Old Navy
[similar - on sale!]

Madewell cognac flat riding boots (also seen here, here & here): c/o Shopbop

Turquoise statement necklace (also seen here, here & here): Mourning Dove

Gold geometric triangle necklace (also seen here, here & here): c/o StyleLately

Have you started your holiday shopping yet? If you're still checkin' off presents on your list, you should totally check out PinkBlush. They are definitely one of my favorite online shops. Every item that I own from them (which you can check out here) has been comfortable, easy to mix and match, and long-lasting.

What are some of your favorite stores to get gifts for loved ones?

Cardi Party | Cardigan + Tee + Boyfriend Jeans + Sneakers

Sunday, October 8, 2017

Happy Sunday! How's ya weekend been? Yesterday was so warm here that we were back in shorts, which felt a bit alarming. Thankfully it quickly went back down to the 70s today, though, which means I can kinda-sorta get away with wearing a cardigan. This off-white cardigan is lightweight and perfect for when it's almost #sweaterweather. Sign me up, baby! (And really, please sign me up for true autumn coolness, Mother Nature. Any day now...)

Empowered Women Empower Women | Graphic Tee + Denim Shorts + Slides

Friday, September 1, 2017

Happy September! I gotta say, I am feeling extra fortunate these days. This is because the past two weekends were spent with some of my very best buds. Two weeks ago my BFF from college came to visit me in San Diego and then last weekend was spent in Newport Beach on a staycation with my best friend since 6th grade. Whenever I spend Q.T. with my longtime gal pals, I am always reminded just how important female friendship is. I have been lucky to be surrounded by intelligent, funny, motivated, and loving ladies from the day I was born and onward. My two sisters and I were raised by our mother, who was a single mom for many years and made sure we grew up knowing that girls can do whatever we put our minds to. This life lesson is made even stronger when women collectively boost each other up, rather than tear each other down. It's so exciting to see this teamwork happening more and more nowadays, because "Empowered women empower women" after all. And when women work together, we all succeed.

Here's to the Lady Loves in all of our lives!

Blush pink "Empowered Women Empower Women" oversized graphic tee: c/o Style Lately
This t-shirt is SO comfy. It's on a different level of softness and I pretty much never want to take it off.
(Plus, the message is something I hope we can all get behind. 💪)

Who are your female role models? If you know them personally, you should consider telling them that they inspire you today :)

Wishing you all a fun long weekend!

Coast-Lines: Denim Jacket + T-Shirt Dress + Sandals + Clutch

Friday, May 26, 2017

FRIDAYYYY! It's here, it's here! And it's even better than usual because it's followed by a three day weekend. Yasssss. Darnit, I love me some weekends. (Who doesn't?)

Last weekend Matt and I explored a San Diego neighborhood we hadn't been to before. It's called Bird Rock, and it's got the prettiest ocean views (as well as delicious vegan pizza). Those ocean views are also why my hair looks so whack (I am aware that I cannot pull off saying "whack") in today's blog post photos. It sure was pretty, but it sure was windy, too. And my hair sure was pretty not pretty..... 😳

It's official: T-shirt dresses are my go-to this summer. This one from PinkBlush is so comfortable, light, and breezy - the perfect warm weather combo!

What are your plans for Memorial Day Weekend? Matt and I are craving another short road trip. We are thinking maybe we'll drive up to Laguna Beach. Matt's never been before, and I haven't been in 250 years (or since I was in the 9th grade, same thing).

Hyped For Striped: Off-the-Shoulder Sweater + Ripped Jeans + Block Heels

Monday, March 27, 2017

Hi there! Is it spring-y where you live yet? Here in SD, allergy season is in full swing. The flowers are blooming everywhere, which makes all the sniffles worth it 1,000,000 times over. Plus, after all the rain we had throughout winter, the green grass and colorful flowers combo is somehow making this Southern Californian paradise even prettier (which I did not think was possible)! They don't call San Diego "America's Finest City" for no reason, people.

Today's blog photos were taken in Ocean Beach, which is an adorable hippy town in San Diego. If you are planning a visit to our SoCal city, I highly recommend checking out O.B. It has a dog beach, a pier, and some of the most delicious vegan food in the area! It's definitely one of mine and Matt's favorite places here. What is your favorite neighborhood in your city?

Knot-Tee: Cardigan + T-Shirt + Ripped Jeans + Slip-ons + Crossbody Bag

Monday, March 20, 2017

Today was my first full day as a 28 year old. March 19th not only marked my 28th year around the sun, but it also indicated the beginning of my entrance in to the "Undoubtedly Nearly 30 Club." When you're 27, you're not really sure if you are considered "mid-20s" or "late-20s." Well, one good thing about turning 28 is that you now know for sure that you are "almost 30 years old." And that means it's time for those of us in this exclusive club to make some major life changes. For me, I chose to start with huge personal changes to really start the year off on the right foot: I changed my hair part, for one (and yes, don't get me started on how pissed I am that you didn't notice.) (Joking.) (Kinda.) And, secondly, I finally grew a pair and started mixing prints, which you can see in today's post. If you like it, hooray! If you don't, that's cool too. (I also decided to be a lot tougher in my "late 20s.")

Love Tatum gold chevron ring: Shoppe California

Totally kidding about the above. I'm from the Midwest - I could never be so rude! But seriously. I hope you can accept the New & Hopefully Improved Allie Version 28.0 😉

(You'd better.)

- - - - -

What changes did you make (or do you plan on making, if you are still a youngin') when you officially reached DUN... DUN... DUNNNN... "your late 20s"?
