Fall is coming... | Jacket + Tank + Ripped Jeans + Slides

Tuesday, August 27, 2019

WOW. It has been a biiiit since the last LunaVida post. So, so sorry! This summer, things have just been quite possibly the busiest of my life. From starting off the season with a weekend in Vegas, to traveling to the east coast for a work retreat, to our trip to Europe for our friends' wedding, and then coming home to settle back into normal life. All the while, we've been doing the standard working, trying to be the best pet parents possible, attempting to ensure the house doesn't become a hazard zone, and trying to maintain somewhat of a social life. (I honestly don't know how people with children do it all. I'll be able to never comprehend it.) And in between all that, somehow the months have just flown by at an unprecedented speed.

Don't get me wrong, though — this has been an amazing summer that I'm very grateful for, but damn, has that extra busyness meant things like LunaVida have fallen to the wayside. I definitely want to share more about our first international trip as vegans, so I will try to get a post up about that as soon as I can! (Let me know if there's anything specific you'd like me to write about. We spent time in Dublin, Barcelona, Santorini, and Paris.) Anyway, thank you for your patience with me — and for more timely updates, be sure to follow along on IG @alliegee319 😊

I also feel a deep need to share that in between all the recent hectic times, Matt and I squeezed in a trip to one of our favorite places in San Diego County, Farm Animal Refuge, last week. Why do I have to share this? Well, you'll see exactly why when you click here to see photos of the litter of weeks old piglets they rescued recently 😍  Enjoy.

How has your summer been? Did it fly by for you too? Are you ready for all that glorious fall promises to bring about or clinging desperately to these long, sunny days?

Crop It Like It's Hot | Knit Top + Printed High-Waisted Pants + Mules

Wednesday, May 15, 2019

Wait. How is it already halfway through the fifth month out of 2019? Mind-blowing... And speaking of mind-blowing – how is there only one episode left of Game of Thrones ever?! Time is flying too quickly. Which is also why it's been extra hard for me to fit in LunaVida posts – and for that, I am very sorry! But I'm back today with an #OOTD that is very "Art Teacher Chic" if you ask me. Doesn't this outfit look like (a hopefully cooler version of) something your 7th-grade art teacher would've worn but, like, with a paintbrush tucked behind her ear? ...Maybe I have too much of an imagination... but regardless, I am iiinto this new trend of comfy, breezy, wide-leg pants!

Black knit crop top with side zippers (also seen here): ASOS

Print high-waist cropped pants with tie: American Eagle
[similar - on sale for under $16!]

Nude mules: American Eagle

Gold aviator sunglasses (here): Old Navy

Gold statement collar necklace (also seen here, here, and here): H&M

Gold bracelets (also seen here, here, and here): Target, c/o oNecklace, and c/o Blue Sunflowers

Do you watch GoT? (If so, what are your theories?!) Are you into the lightweight, baggy pants trend? If you're not a fan, I get it. But I also recommend trying on a pair – because, honestly, this level of non-pajama comfort is unparalleled.

Favorite Florals | Bomber Jacket + Crop Top + Ripped Levi's

Friday, April 12, 2019

Long time, no see -- especially in the realm of outfit posts, eh? I won't lie to you. Since I work from home 90% of the clothes I wear are sweatpants. Another 5% are yoga pants for going to the gym. And that leaves just 5% of my life that I actually wear "real" clothes for, hence the lack of OOTDs to share 🙆

Life has also been spectacularly busier than normal. Matt and I spent the weekend before my birthday up in a snowy cabin with the dogs in Big Bear Lake (which I intend to eventually share a travel guide for because we LOVED it up there!). I started my new job the day after we got back and then was it was off to Pennsylvania the week after for five days for a work retreat. Then when I came home to San Diego, I got to see Cirque du Soleil for the first time (which was just as fun as everyone says it is), I relished in spring, Matt and I redid our backyard garden due to said relishing in springtime, etc, etc, etc. You see, really, I've just been living life. And I'm still getting my footing with the new routine. But LunaVida is always in the back of my mind -- and it's the first task I do when I have extra time. So here we are now! I have a free night that doesn't call for Zumba class or having to be social (#IntrovertProbs) or simply lacking the extra energy due to the pure exhaustion that sometimes comes from life as a working adult. So anyway, I hope you enjoy the first vegan fashion post up on LunaVida since February (👀)

Now that I'm (finally) back with an outfit post, I'm curious: what are your favorite types of LunaVida posts to see? Personal style? Vegan living? Cruelty-free gift guides? General life updates? Please let me know so that I can make sure I'm writing posts you actually want to see!

Hoping your spring has been off to a fantastic start so far -- and continues to keep up that way!

Cozied Up Cardigan | Sweater + Tee + High-Waisted Jeans + Ankle Boots

Tuesday, January 22, 2019

Hi, I'm back! And with this first outfit post of 2019, I present to you... me... with blonde hair 🙆😱

Really though, this means it's been a BIT since I shared an OOTD! As I previously mentioned, I went blonde-ish on a whim back in early December while I was visiting my family in Ohio. I am a natural brunette (you can check out any blog post from pre-spring 2018 to see my real hair color because last year was the first time I ever dyed it in my life). It's by far the biggest physical change I've ever made but a kinda fun change. Will I keep it? Will I go lighter in the future? Will I go back to balayage? Will I get sick of upkeep and dye it back to simple, all over dark brown? The answer is... yes -- to probably all of those 😉 Because now that I've caught the bug, I think I'll keep trying new things every once in a while. I used to just cut bangs when I got sick of my hair but now that I've dyed it, I truly get the obsession. It really is fun! My hair may be fried, and my white hairs still frustratingly pop out after just a few weeks, but I'm havin' fun embracing the changes, baby!

Burgundy oversized knit open-front cardigan: Target

What kind of changes have you made in the New Year? Matt and I just embarked on another plant-based Whole30 yesterday. I turn 30 in March so it seemed like a good idea to close out my 20s with some healthy living, ya know what I'm sayin'?

The Fray | Cardigan + Plaid Top + Skinny Jeans + Ankle Boots

Tuesday, December 18, 2018

Umm... Christmas is one week away. Seriously, where is the time going? If you haven't noticed, I've been *way* behind on LunaVida posts. I am also still so far behind on holiday shopping. This season of life had just been buuuusy. I mean, the holidays are always full every year but this year seems to be even more so than usual. I'm not quite sure when things will be calming down but I'm hoping to get back to semi-normal blog posting schedule by the New Year! In the meantime, be sure to follow along on Instagram @alliegee319 for more timely updates... meaning photos of my dogs and cats obviously ;)
