All Wrapped Up | Lace-Up Sweater + Ripped Jeans + d'Orsay Flats

Thursday, October 5, 2017

Happy October - AKA the best month of them all! Matt and I kicked off this month with a trip to Idyllwild to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. We had the absolute best and most relaxing time cuddling up by the fire in our A-frame cabin, hiking in the crisp autumn air with our dogs, and eating so much delicious vegan food at Plant Food Supper Club (we literally ate there three times). All of the outdoor time somehow got me even more psyched for fall, which I didn't think was possible!

White sweater with lace-up black ribbon detail: c/o Simply Be
This sweater is officially my favorite fall top! It's lightweight yet warm, simple yet interesting, and cozy yet can be dressed up, too. I seriously LOVE it. I am also seriously loving Simply Be, which is a clothing website that offers sizes 4-28. Therefore, no matter what your body type, you'll find something cute to wear this season!
(Be sure to check back because I'll be featuring more Simply Be pieces in future posts!)

I apologize for the excessive amounts of photos in today's post... 😳  I just couldn't help myself with that beautiful backdrop! They were taken in Idyllwild at a place called Indian Vista Scenic Overlook.  The mountain views with the leaves changing color on all sides were like something out of a storybook. Matt and I kept saying how we so badly want to buy a cabin there so we can have retreat from the city. Sigh, one day.

(PS: Stay tuned because I plan to share a weekend travel guide to Idyllwild on LunaVida soon!)

Oui Oui Mon Chéri: Coat + Sweater + Skinnies + Heels

Thursday, April 2, 2015

Happy Thursday!  We are so close to the weekend.  I can almost taste it.  I am reeeal ready to get some errands done that have been on my "to do" list for far, far too long.  Matt and I are still working on the house, but we are so close to finally having it just how we want it.  I can't wait to throw a housewarming party so our friends and family can see the finished product -- and to share it with you all too, of course!

How has your spring been going so far?  Whenever I get on Instagram, I see that people are still dealing with snowy days... That makes me sad  D:  Please know that my heart is with you and you are always welcome in the AZ!

Travel Diaries: San Diego Sightseeing

Thursday, January 8, 2015

Hi guys! As I mentioned previously, Matt and I started 2015 off by taking our first mini vacation of the year to California. Living in Phoenix, we have a very cool advantage compared to a lot of other places I have lived in the past. We are central to so many awesome places that are just a road trip away. It's only 5.5 hours to San Diego, 6 hours to Los Angeles, 7 hours to Durango, Colorado, 2 hours to Sedona, Arizona, 4 hours to Las Vegas. The ease of western traveling is actually one of my very favorite things about living in PHX. Plus, the views during these road trips... OH, THE VIEWS! They are so picturesque and make the long hours in the car so much more bearable and exciting.

On our way to San Diego, we actually came across SNOW once we crossed the border from AZ into to Cali! Of course that meant we had to pull off the highway immediately and play around in the fluffy whiteness for a good half hour or so (I mean, there were snowballs that just had to be thrown, after all). I hadn't seen snow in years, but since I grew up in Ohio I always get nostalgic whenever I get to see it. And our dogs, Dakota and Kingsley, had never seen snow before; however, Kingsley hates being wet and cold, so we expected him to despise it. How shockingly wrong we were! Both pups loved playing in and eating the snow! It was by far one of my very favorite memories yet from one of our many road trips. Sometimes the journey really is just as good as the destination, eh?

Have you ever been to San Diego? Did you take a trip somewhere to kick off the new year? I can't wait until we plan our next weekend road trip! (You hear that, Matt? Let's gooo!)
