Travel Diaries: Oia, Greece {Day 6 - Part One}

Monday, October 20, 2014

I'm back with more Travel Diaries!  I apologize for the lapse in updates about our Mediterranean adventures, but be sure to check out parts one, two, and three first!

This post details the beginning part of our day spent in my very favorite place we visited the entire trip to Europe (aaaand also in my entire life): Oia in Santorini, Greece!!!  Have you ever seen The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants?  Well, Oia is the place Lena and Co. go to, and it is beyond gorgeous.  We took our ATV over to Oia for the day, where we walked around, popping in and out of shops, eating delicious Greek food, petting stray cats and dogs, and taking in the sights.  And the sights.  Oh man, THE SIGHTS.  Just see for yourself below:

^ How cute is the hotel that we stayed at in Santorini for the second half of our time there?! ^

Travel Diaries: The Vatican & Santorini, Greece {Days 4-5}

Thursday, September 25, 2014

Hello!  I'm back at it with the "Travel Diaries" series from our vacation (check out parts onetwo)!

Our last day in Italy was spent in Rome and visiting the Vatican.  We got to go in to St. Peter's Basilica, and it was breathtaking.  I just couldn't believe the details and craftsmanship that went into every single inch of it.  It was definitely an amazing way to end our time in Italy before we headed to the airport and went on our merry way to Santorini, Greece.

Which, by the way: AHHH, SANTORINI!!!  If you know me personally, you'd probably know that Santorini has been my dream travel destination for the majority of my life.  The fact that Matt and I made it there for our first trip to Europe together just makes me downright giddy.  I had high expectations (considering I'd dreamt of this particular location for well over a decade), and I am not exaggerating when I say Santorini blew even my expectations WAY out of the [sparklingly, beautiful, blue Grecian] water.

We spent our first two nights in Greece at a cute hotel by Perissa Beach, which has amazing black sand.  We rented a [really fun, fast, and powerful] ATV to scoot around the island.  It is by far the best mode of transportation to get around!  (The prices were so reasonable too, so I totally recommend it to anyone who's traveling there in the future.)  We checked out all the sites and visited lots of different beaches.  One of the coolest things about Santorini is the fact that it has so many different types of sand at its beaches (white, red, and black sand beaches on one tiny island), so we made sure to visit 'em all!

Gray oversized tank top (also seen here, herehere): Victoria's Secret PINK

Kimchi Blue rust orange lace bralette: Urban Outfitters $9.99 (on sale from $24)

Black & white polka dot printed shorts (also seen here): Forever 21

Studded beige flat sandals: Old Navy

Santorini map locket necklace (also seen here & here): Gifted from my mom [from the Etsy shop, Brass and Chain]

Santorini was by far my favorite place we visited during our whole trip.  It was also where we spent the most time, and I am so glad we planned it like that.  If you're looking for a place to travel to my advice is make it Santorini!!!

Be sure to check back again to see the posts about the rest of our time spent in Santorini and then Mykonos, Greece!
