Spring Has (Almost) Sprung | Jean Jacket + Lace-Up Dress + Riding Boots

Friday, February 16, 2018

Happy Friday! Let me start off by apologizing for my unexpectedly prolonged absence. Last week I was vacationing in Florida with my family. Of course we were visiting the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and let. me. tell. YOU. The newer Diagon Alley area in Universal Orlando is something to be seen, my friends. It is SO fun and I highly recommend checking it out if you're ever in Florida. The only downside to the entire trip? Trying to eat vegan at an amusement park. Oh my lawd, there are so few options for us plant-based peeps. Thankfully though my mom realized Amazon Prime Now delivered to our hotel, so I just ordered all the vegan snacks they offered and then brought them into the parks with me. (So if you are vegan and do plan to go, just make sure you plan ahead. Also would a blog post on how I managed to make it work interest anyone? If so, I'll write it... aaand if not, I won't.) Anyway, then I returned home to Cali and straight to work it was. And that is why I've been MIA recently -- but I'm back today with this early spring-like OOTD!

Does anyone else feel like 2018 is just flying right past? I do. How are we already halfway through February? Every time I look at the calendar I can't believe that's the actual date. 2018 is shaping up to be one of the fastest years of my life so far, but I'm excited for what's in store!

I Avoca-Do | Vegan Love Apparel Tank + Denim Shorts + Sneakers

Friday, September 8, 2017

Happiest of Fridays to you! Do you have any fun weekend plans? I think I'm going to persuade Matt that we need to make a trip to Cinnaholic down in Pacific Beach. They have vegan cinnamon rolls. (Aaand, just like that, my mouth is watering only thinking about them.) So yeah, that is going to happen with our without Matt (not that it'll take anything to convince him, let's be honest). And speaking of vegan, in today's post I am featuring one of my new favorite vegan brands, Vegan Love Apparel. Both tank tops featured below are from them, and they are both (vegan) butter-y soft and light. I can't get enough of them - plus, most importantly, they are 100% animal cruelty-free and eco-responsible! Now that is what I'm talkin' about!

I love supporting and featuring vegan brands, companies, and organizations. Farm Animal Refuge is a local rescue for farmed animals located in Campo, California. They are doing amazing work, so please check them out and consider donating to help their lifesaving cause!

On a totally different note - to everyone who is in the path of Hurricane Irma, I am sending out all the good juju that you are all kept safe and dry. Florida was my home for over 6 years and I have many loved ones who still live there... I'm worried about you all but trying to stay positive. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help you guys!

I'm back!! Hoorah! I sincerely apologize for my recent absence from the blog-iverse. I just got back from my trip to Orlando for my niece's first birthday (awww) yesterday evening. It was so nice (and much needed) to get a break and go on a quick four day vacay to spend time with my sister and co. Wednesday, April 2, 2014

Hey guys! First, let me apologize for my unintended leave of absence. Whoa. Have I been MIA or what? Matt's parents came into town, so between hanging out with them, still trying to get our apartment in working order, and my odd work schedule, LunaVida got put on the serious back burner. I'm sorry :( Unfortunately, I'll probably be a little absent in the next week or so too, because I'm taking a red eye flight to Florida this weekend to celebrate my niece's 1st birthday. (Yayyy for family time and vacation!!!) I'll be back to a normal blogging schedule very soon. Please bear with me and my hectic schedule for now :P Until then, follow along via Instagram @alliegee319 :)

Pretty in Pink: Fit & Flare Dress + Strappy Heels

Friday, November 1, 2013

Hello, lovelies! The other night my boo and I went to the Arizona State Fair and, I gotta tell ya, we had quite the darn tootin' good time. Since it was a weekday, we got to play games and go on the rides for only $2 each! And even better? We indulged in three -- yes, three -- varieties of fried yummies: fried Snickers, Twinkies, and Oreos. Aside from the amazing fried goodies and cheap games and rides, the weather was absolutely unbelievable. It was the first real "fall feeling" night. So chilly, in fact, that I got to wear a sweater, a coat, and boots (basically the exact opposite of today's post haha)! Gimme, gimme, gimme.

Fuchsia fit & flare bow dress: Kohl's $10
-Similar styles: Old Navy $15 (on sale from $29.94), Kohl's $17.50 (on sale from $50), Forever 21 $19.80Forever 21 $19.80 or Kohl's $36 (on sale from $60)

Brown strappy cork platform high heels: Kohl's $30.97 (I got them in store for $20, on sale from $69.99)

Urban Expressions vegan gray clutch (also seen here & here): DSW $34.95

Green triangular bracelet: Urban Outfitters $2

Do you attend your state's fair? We went once or twice when we lived in Florida, but it didn't compare to Arizona's State Fair. AZ gets it RIGHT in the festival game. It was so clean and well kept -- seriously!

PS: I hope you had a happy Halloween yesterday! I went as Katniss from The Hunger Games.

I apologize for the lack of better pictures. I had worked all day wearing this costume and my braid was done for and my outfit was covered in cat hair at this point :P
