My Nightly Beauty Routine & Favorite Cruelty-Free Products
Thursday, May 11, 2017
Hey there! Today I want to write about something I haven't done in awhile, which is share my updated nightly beauty routine. I feel funny even calling my pretty darn pared down and informal getting ready for bed checklist a "beauty routine." However, seeing as just a few months ago I had even less products that I used on a daily basis, it's a vast and very adult new routine in my eyes.
Now that I am in my late 20s, I have finally taken heed of people's advice to begin my anti-aging regimen. And as I've mentioned before, I've been focusing on transitioning my life to all vegan products; thus, scroll down to see my favorite cruelty-free products that I use each night before bed and why I love them!
1. Whiten My Teeth With Trays & Gels Via Smile Brilliant
I've discussed my love for this vegan and cruelty-free company before, which you can see here. After my initial whitening, I now just do upkeep sessions every couple of weeks. I've seen such a big difference in my smile - and Matt even loves using Smile Brilliant now, too! (Use coupon code "lunavida25" for $25 off your purchase. Psst... their kits would make an amazing Mother's Day gift if you're still wondering what to get your mom!)
2. Wash My Face With "The Spin for Perfect Skin Kit" Via Vanity Planet
This magical brush set has multiple heads for all of my beauty needs from head to toe. There is a body brush for the shower, a smoother facial brush, as well as an exfoliating one, and a callus remover. All of which are interchangeable on the handheld part. It's pure genius and used almost every night in our household! (Luckily for you, Vanity Planet is offering 70% off for LunaVida readers to purchase their spin products with promo code "BBSFPS70" for a limited time!)
These are both cruelty-free products I previously featured on LunaVida and also fell head over heels for. The retinol moisturizer goes on so smoothly, and it really helped to even out my skin tone. The eye gel is another Godsend for those of us with dark under eye circles and/or bags (such as myself).
4. Put On Tom's of Maine Deodorant
(Yes, I slather my deodorant on at night. I don't know why, but I've been doing it since I was a teenager, and it works; therefore, I'm sticking with it.) In my ongoing self discovery search for more natural products, I have officially cut out aluminum-ridden, icky, standard antiperspirant brands. In its place, I have added in Tom's of Maine Natural Original Care Unscented Deodorant. While I won't lie to you, because I do sweat more than when I used, for example, Secret, I'll take a little perspiration over all the toxic chemicals seeping into my body.
This one is pretty straightforward in one's beauty routine: sleep. It makes us more beautiful and, more importantly, stops us from snapping at innocent people it keeps us kind. I can't get enough of the Zzz's these days. Even back in my youth, I have always been the type of person who does their best with 8 -- or 9, if I am being totally honest -- hours of sleep each night. Now that I am getting older though, there is no denying that I feel, look, and act my best the day after a long night of rest. So hit the hay and then seize the day! (God, that was a cheesy perfect phrase... #Trademark.)

So there you have it - how I use my favorite products every evening, now that I care about stopping wrinkles in their tracks and whatnot. (You may have noticed though, that there is a crucial favorite "time to prep for bed" product missing here... face wash. I am still in search of an amazing, vegan, cruelty-free cleanser for semi-acne-prone combination skin. Do you have any recommendations for me? I'll be forever grateful!)
What are your "gotta have 'em" items for your beauty routine?
For a cleanser idea, have you looked into the "Yes To Tomatoes" clear skin/acne line of products? I like their detoxifying charcoal cleanser and charcoal mud mask. Both contain small amounts of salicylic acid, but are cruelty and paraben free and are 96-97% natural. --Kristen Bunner
Cool blog! Is your theme custom made or did you download it from somewhere? A theme like yours with a few simple adjustements would really make my blog jump out. Please let me know where you got your theme. With thanks
