I'm baaack! Late last night, Matt and I returned from our long weekend in Southern California. We visited our friend in San Diego County and spent some time in Carlsbad and Pacific Beach. We had never been to Carlsbad before, and it's safe to say that Matt and I both fell in love with the quaint beach town. Everything about it is just utterly charming. (Plus, it was 74 degrees - in comparison to the 105+ degrees of Phoenix.) I can't wait to go back!

There is only one downside to a trip to the beach... and that, of course, is the possibility of getting a sunburn. I haven't had a sunburn since I was a kid (I am usually religious about sunscreen). That all changed this weekend, however, because during an overcast day spent outside in Pacific Beach, I didn't realize just how much UV exposure I was getting... Consequently, I am now (still) as red as a cherry tomato - and more fearful of skin damage and wrinkles more than ever! The funny part, though, is that this cold shoulder dress is what I was wearing -- which means I have the most amazing [trendy] farmers tan ever. (Also, let my forgetfulness serve as a reminder to you all: wear your SPF 30+ every damn day, kids - no matter how un-sunny it may be!)
