Hi, guys! This past weekend Matt and I took a mini stay-cation, booked a darling cottage on Airbnb in a small farm town outside of Sedona, and brought the pups for a long weekend full of hiking through the red rocks. Then yesterday Matt, being the sweet and loving soul that he is, crossed another experience off my personal bucket list by booking us a hot air balloon ride!!! (Seriously, he is the greatest.) This is something I've wanted to do for as long as I can remember, and it was even better than I could've ever imagined, and the views were breathtaking. Shockingly, it was also extremely relaxing and serene. (Matt and I both said we expected it to be adrenaline-inducing, at least in the beginning, but it was so smooth the whole time.) I highly suggest scheduling a hot air balloon ride this weekend if it's been on your "to-do" list -- you won't regret it!

Wardrobe Staples: Chambray + Black Skinnies + Leopard Print Flats

Hey there! How was your Valentine's Day and weekend? Mine was absolutely fantastic (plus, thanks to Presidents Day, it is a three day weekend - woo hoo!). It began with a bang when I arrived home from work on Friday to a surprise package on my front porch. The mystery parcel was all the way from NYC from my BFF... asking me to be her maid of honor in her wedding next year!!! (Of course I said yes!) I am so excited to start celebrating and seeing more of the bride-to-be. We have to go so long between visits since we live so far apart, unfortunately; thus, I am really looking forward to being able to see her more this year! As for V-Day, Matt and I spent the whole day, super relaxed, eating delicious food, and walking around downtown. It was sunny, warm, and just about the perfect day. These types of weekends are soul food, ya know what I'm sayin'?

Layer It On: Denim Jacket + Dress + Tights + Ankle Boots + Hat

Hi there! Have you ever heard of the Waste Management Open in Scottsdale? Well, if not, it's basically a huge party with a golf tournament going on in the background. I had never been before and it's a big annual event here in the Valley, so Matt and I went yesterday to experience what all the hubbub was about... We were there for a total of two hours before we had had enough. We can no longer put up with places that just house hoards of drunk slobs falling over themselves (and onto you too in the process) -- which yes, means we realized that we are officially OLD. That's okay with us though, because we left, headed to an [early bird] dinner and enjoyed some cocktails, came home, and watched Audrey Hepburn movies on Netflix while sipping tea. (To some of you this may make us the most boring people on Planet Earth, but ask yourself this: can anything really beat an Audrey movie marathon? Uh, no.)

Happiest of Mondays to you! How has the first day of the [typical] work week been for you? Mine flew by, man! As did my weekend, per usual. When did the days go from being 24 hours to 2.4 hours? Before I know it I'll be old and gray -- just like my mom always warned me would happen the older I got. There she goes again, that mama of mine... always being right and whatnot.
