Hey there! I'm back today with some more photos from our Europe trip. Today's post features beautiful Firenze & Roma, Italia! We only spent one day in Florence and two in Rome [we did Italy by storm, and then relaxed like real vacationers once in Greece], but I'll share the second half of the Rome pictures in the next upcoming blog post.
While we were in Florence, we spent the whole day just walking around the city, stopping at any place that sold food that looked even remotely interesting, because the Italian part of our trip was definitely focused on EATING [as it should be, yah?]. We also went to the Piazza del Duomo, Ponte Vecchio and Michelangelo Plaza, which has the most beautiful view of the whole city. It was breathtaking.
During our first day in Rome, it was pretty hot & crowded. We indulged in gelato [multiple times...] and perused around, seeing the most famous sites, including the Colosseum, Pantheon, and Trevi Fountain (which the water was drained out of, sadly!). It was mind blowing to go inside these places I'd always seen photos of and be surrounded by so much history and ancient architecture. The whole city of Rome is like that actually -- you can be walking down a normal street and then BAM! There's a structure that is thousands of years old. It's amazing!
Have you ever been to Italy before? Where'd ya visit? Let me know!
Be sure to check back to see the rest of this blog series about our adventures in Europe!
