Plaid, a Pop of Color... and a Puppy!

Hi!  I am so sorry I have been M.I.A. these past few days.  I was on the east coast of Florida this weekend, and I didn't get a chance to blog.  I did, however, get to plan a trip to NYC to visit my best friend, Chelsea, at the end of next month- YAY :D  I have never been to New York before either (Crazy, right?), so I am extra excited!!!

Nail Art Addict

Happy Martin Luther King, Jr. Day!  Hope you are enjoying your day whether you were lucky to get off from work/school or not :)

Today I thought I'd switch things up a tad and focus on a little bit of... beeeauty!  This blog is primarily for affordable fashion, but I think it'd be fun to also share other interests-- like nail art, baby!  Nail art is a trend I am so glad has happened over the past few years.  I could (ahem... meaning I totally do) spend hours looking at all the amazing nail art on Pinterest and probably never tire of seeing people's creativity when it comes to their digits.

Looking back on the days when I would just paint all my nails one solid color makes me depressed... I was missing out on a whole other form of self expression! ;)  That being said, I decided to share some of my favorite past nail art.  Hope you like it!

I wore this manicure for my five year anniversary with my boyfriend :)

Sorry for the Red Bull shout out... We were playing paintball that day, and I wanted to get a shot of my mani before it was ruined :P

So if you can't tell based on the amount of pictures I have of this dark navy blue nail polish, it is BY FAR my favorite nail polish I own. It is called "Blue for You" by ULTA, and it stays on for a long time without chipping or leaving your fingernails yellowed like so many other dark polishes. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone!

This is what "Blue for You" looks like without any other nail art added. Kinda moody, kinda classic.  Looove it! I am so happy to report that you can still purchase it here.

Date Night Dilemmas: Part Three

Hey all!  Today is the final part (sad face) of the "Date Night Dilemmas" series. Check out parts one & two!

For the last type of date I will be covering, I decided to do the most romantic type -- well, at least in my eyes, because I love being surprised! That said, it can also be one of the most frustrating to dress for since there are usually not many hints outlined for what is proper. A fail-safe outfit is typically something a little "girly," a little trendy, and a lot comfortable (you never know how much walking you'll be doing).

If it currently way too cold where you are located to wear a sleeveless top and peep-toe shoes like this, try wearing a heavier jacket and switch out the flats for warm boots. Adding a chunky scarf like this one (only $5!) would be cute, too :)

An outfit similar to this would work for anything from a romantic dinner to horseback riding! It is definitely a safe option when you aren't sure exactly where the night will take you. But after all, aren't those the best types of nights?
